Knit That

posted on: October 27, 2015

One of my favorite times of the year is when I can curl up in a cozy knit, drink hot coco, and be completely present in the moment. That can be a very hard thing to accomplish sometimes with the busyness of life, but when you have these in your life, it’s so hard not to! Go ahead, do it. Your state of relaxation will thank me.

I Love Mr. Mittens!

posted on: October 20, 2015

So I am not going to lie. I am kind of in love. I love Mr. Mittens! Before you all think I have gone off the deep end, I love Mr. Mittens is an amazing knitwear fashion company coming out of Australia. This brand is quite incredible and so authentic to the niche of the world of knits they encompass. Focusing on chunky wool garments and thicker the better knitting techniques, these quality or quantity pieces are not something that you are going to see an over abundance of. The founder and designer, Stephanie Caulier, hand knits each piece produced, alongside her team of locals she employs in her community. With so much love going into each item, they stand by “simple, elegant, timeless, and fashionable” staples for you to enjoy.

Black and white done right

When you think of classic staple pieces, what enters your mind; a certain color, style, or fabric? I think everyone would agree that a black and white color pallet would qualify to be a standard in this category. Whenever I work with this type of neutral, I always instinctively want to turn it into a very bold statement piece. If you’re going to do it, might as well do it right? That’s my motto! Cozy Up for a Cause

posted on: October 6, 2015

When design and a great cause collide, it is always something I want to talk about.  Sackcloth and Ashes is a company that was founded by Bob Dalton to create a way of giving back to the community. He decided to get involved and start a blanket line that would donate one blanket to a local homeless shelter for every one blanket purchased. His mother fell victim to being homeless at one point in her life, and from that point on, he knew he had to do something to make a difference. On top of that, these blankets are awesome and right on trend! If this is something that you would like to support, please visit their website at www.sackclothandashes.com
