Many would agree that sustainable and philanthropic efforts aimed at consumerism over the past several years have indeed embraced a more stylized and design conscious approach. We at FLO love this combination of helping others while adapting beyond pleasing aesthetics and design . So much so that we felt inspired to share just a few of our fave companies that are leading the way with this stylish, “do good” movement.
.Boxed Water Is Better – Started with a simple idea to create a bottled water brand that was kinder to the environment. Turned out boxed was better. About 76% of the box is from renewable resources, trees. 10% of profits are donated to world water relief foundations and another 10% to reforestation foundations.
.Yellow Leaf Hammocks – Their mission is to spread blissful relaxation worldwide and empower families and communities to rise above poverty by creating sustainable, flexible, safe, high wage artisan work. A Yellow Leaf Hammock weaver can earn as much as a college educated teacher! Plus, YLH is passionate about the nap.
.Stone + Cloth – Inspired by a mountain climbing expedition in Tanzania, creator Matthew Clough, was determined to create backpacks to help fund education to children in East Africa. This after he found out that his porter Benson, who helped him reach his climbing quest, didn’t earn enough money to put a child through school.
.Warby Parker – We love our WP’s and their endeavor to craft stylish boutique-quality eyewear at a revolutionary price. Plus, for every pair sold a pair is given to someone in need. Need we say more?
